Sexual Abuse Prevention Program
Sexual Abuse Prevention Project (SAPP)/Wood County
The goal of the SAPP is to help children recognize and report child abuse (e.g. sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence) to a trusted adult. SAPP teaches Wood County third and eighth graders personal safety and problem-solving skills. The program was designed in 1983 by a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency committee of professionals from several community agencies who were concerned about the problem of sexual abuse in Wood County . Each year the program serves over 2,300 children.
